Flo Gas offers are back

Do you think I could change my 6k flogas propane for one of those gas light 10k cylinders

Oh okay, its only every advert for the gaslite now comes with the flo gas logo, thought maybe they had taken them over, oh well never mind..

One is Flo Gas the other BP through Homebase so I doubt that either company would be very happy .

Both are Flo-Gas, Homebase are just a reseller of Flo-Gas's BP Light product.

I get my BP Lights from a Flo-Gas reseller other than Homebase.

There seems a lot of confusion on forums on this point with an unfound belief BP-Lights are uniquely available from Homebase.

Write your comments here...Hakinbush - You could always go to Safefill and get cheap gas forever. Flo Gas must be getting worried about Safefill and with good reason. Their ripoff days like Calors, are coming to an end. I can get almost that amount of gas for about £7.50!

I have Gaslow's Merve so I appreciate getting the cheaper gas as we tend to camp off grid, especially abroad.  However, you do need to use a substantial amount to make refillables worthwhile. 

Write your comments here...I agree DD but if you are off grid, you naturally use the gas so no problem. It's kind of a self fulfilling prophesy if you like. The fact is that since using Safefill and producing my own power, I have seriously reduced my costs of caravanning. I have just had another 4 nights in Norfolk - another £32 saved! And that's just on site fees let alone what I would have spent on Calors cylinders!

The numbers don't always add up. I pay £30 for 19kg Flogas cylinder (no deposit necessary for the cylinder). This is delivered free to my door. Using Merve's cost of £7.50 to fill a 10kg Safefill cylinder and add in the 15 mile round trip (x2) to my nearest filling point, this calculates out to approximately £31.10 for Safefill. I can occasionally get a 19kg from another supplier if I happen to be nearby for £27.99 so the savings are not that great and no matter how much gas I use it would take a long time to recover the cost of a Safefill cylynder and much more inconvenience in having to visit the filling point. Safefill is a good idea and can save money if, and only if, you have a filling point close to home. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me.

Hi Merve, well you see I replaced both bottles Jan 14 one LPG the other butane , the 6 and the 7, even with about 50-60 nights a year since then and using the butane for my gas barbie they are now just reaching changing point, I do understand where your coming from with safefill but you must understand Im a solo caravaner of 71 vintage and ashamed as I am to admit I tend to use the microwave for a great deal of my cooking, and the rest the nearest pub that does good food, so in short I'll probs never get the return on the initial outlay..
