Was thinking of staying at Godrevy Park Cornwall during the Easter holidays but the club are charging top whack for the full two weeks, 29.00 for a grass pitch, I can stay at Gwithian farm on a hard standing for 21.00, site is just up the road and a little closer to the beach.

Another couple of hundred quid the club can afford to chuck, take it or leave it

There is one in Scotland that I would use.

Sounds like a site to be missed for me.

We had been there back in about 2000, in August, it was nice and dry then, but, no, we would not use it again.

Some reason that grass should be cheaper than hard standing, and indeed it is with C&CC) but I always thing that grass awning pitches take more in maintenance and each year I see numerous ones with dead grass, ruts, mud and pitches that I would never want in that state.

Low ground?

It looked all much the same, though the warden was advising MHs to avoid a certain area.

We had a pitch close to the toilet block.

It slopes uphill from the road with the facility block in the middle and the higher ground beyond. The low bit along the hedge next to the road obviously gets soggier than the higher ground.

If you mean Dunnet Bay then you’ll find Godrevy very similar, Easy.

We use Godrevy almost every year without problems.

Yep, that was it, Dunnet Bay

It must be a very gentle slope.  We were on the far side of the toilet block, so not near the road,  it was extremely soggy with plenty of bare mud in many areas.

Gentle in parts, steep in others.

As it was nearly three years ago, you may not fully remember, KJ.

I remember  it well, we were on pitch 106.

I went for a long walk on the dunes, some of the slopes there were steep, but the site itself was relatively flat.

We obviously have different ideas  as to what qualifies as steep!

This is pointless so I’ll let you have the last word. It’s obviously not the same site I’ve been going to for years and had a part seasonal on at one time. undecided
