Back in March towing to York I drove over a huge pothole, which dislodged my jockey wheel- ruining the tyre and scraping the A frame fibreglass valance badly, before I could find a layby to pull into.

Anyway, I discovered aluminium tread plates on eBay- it's aluminium sheet with that sort of chequer pattern on one side. I was able to buy a cut-off of tread plate cheaply, cut it to size, and pop rivetted it over the damage to the fibreglass valance- and voila! for a couple of pounds and an hour's work I've been able to do a professional looking repair.
