All season awnings

Since no one has replied, I'll do my best to help! We have two awnings - a Kampa AirPro 390 Grande and a lightweight Sunncamp Air 390.  We use the SC in winter when the weather is likely to be wet because the Kampa is such a big heavy lump to dry at home if it has to be packed away wet, whereas the Sunncamp dries easily overnight in the garage.

We have just had 10 days at the NYM site, near Whitby when the Sunncamp was out in the most horrendous weather - 60 mph winds and the most torrential rain and it was absolutely fine - no leaks.  Yes. it flexed a bit in the wind but no damage either to the awning or the van.

The SC was relatively cheap (I did say relatively) at £350 compared with almost £1000 for the Kampa and whilst not as versatile as the Kampa is absolutely fine in all weathers.  So - my experience is that 'normal' awnings are OK and no need to spend a fortune.

I was on a sight in Devon for the whole of September using a Kampa air 390 which I have had for 4/5 years, no problems, however, i have to say weather was very kind. On site 1 set of wardens who live in their caravan for almost the whole year on site had an all weather awning, it was very large and did look and feel very substantial, no idea how much it would cost to buy new, but my guess is they would also be very heavy, not something you would want to be packing away every week or so, as Richardandros states even the Kampa air 390 is a heavy lump, 20 kgs, so would not want to be carrying anything heavier than 20Kgs, and a nightmare when wet , but surprisingly they do dry very quickly.
