Would our Ford transit custom be a problem on site

Hi this may be a strange question but our new van is a white ford transit custom and we are buying a Swift lifestyle 6. We are taking a year off and want to travel all around the UK, Ireland Scotland etc with our dogs and just relaxxxxx after many years working hard without holidays. I just saw a note on another website saying we may not be allowed to book sites due to 'the van' and possible looking like travellers I presume ( nothing against anyone just saying what I read )  :/  sadly I don't drive so we only have our new transit ( not sign writen! )  and im a bit worried we may find bookings a problem?  Hope someone can advise x THANKYOU

Hello Kerry, from previous threads with your question I believe the answer was-no problem on CC sites. If you're a member you're entitled to use the CC sites. Enjoy your well earned breakHappy

Things are more relaxed these days, Kerry, and you'll even find sign written commercial vehicles used for towing. Some sites may have smaller pitches meaning you'll need to park in the car park but, other than that, I don't think you'll have a problem. You could ring head office to clarify just in case.

Kerry, I've just re-read your post and realised you don't necessarily mean Club sites and you mention Ireland. As has been said, it's worth ringing commercial sites to see what their policy is.

Ireland, I'm afraid is likely to cause you problems. Sites in NI are very reluctant to accept commercial vehicles for obvious reasons and Eire might well be the same.

THANKYOU everyone :) I did hope this was the case in the UK. As my husband only vehicle is a work one we don't have the option of another car for towing so quite a relief to know we will be ok but I would always check when booking because I like to make sure there are no suprises! lol. I'm very much looking forward to a break :) thanks!

Enjoy your touring, Kerry. Thanks for responding - so many people don't have the courtesy to do that.

Camouflage your van. Screw a couple of dark tinted acrylic panels to the side of the van, add a couple of decals and everyone will think it's a MH. Wink

We tow with a VW Transporter, never encountered any issues with the Caravan Club in over 4 years. Infact theres a lot of Plus points to towing with a van.

I know a few CLs that do not allow them, so would raise the issue if you are planning to use them, and why wouldn't you? There will probably be areas of the country devoid of CC sites so I would recommend using CLs.
