Winter Caravanning - new van - should we wait?

We ordered a new caravan and were due to pick it up on 16th August.  However, there is a delay at the factory and we are now not getting it till 16 September but have been given the option to cancel.  Before ordering I debated about ordering a caravan even in August as we would only get a little use out of it I thought. However my partner was keen and still wants the caravan now. I wondered how many people caravan in the autumn/winter months.  Our caravan will have a gas heater and hot water. To me the sensible option would be to wait, save on insurance storage and see whats available at the beginning of next year, however my partner loves the layout of the van we have ordered and we are also restricted by weight.
