We are now very happy caravan owners!

On Saturday we bought the replacement caravan, and finally settled on the 2011 Bailey Pegasus 2, thank you all for the help and advice you have given us.

Since then it has been a whirlwind of looking for storage, insurance and trying to find light accessories (Sainsburys have some lovely picnic plates etc in at the moment).

We visited the storage facility on Sunday, so that's all sorted and we collect the new car on Thursday, so I'm guessing we will be collecting the caravan at the weekend.

Are there any essential items that we need to purchase between then and now? We need to buy a hitch lock and cover, but I'm not sure if there is anything else you need for towing specifically. The long mirrors and whatever it is that's used to attach the new number plate to the caravan, or anything else a novice would never think of.

We are all really excited about enjoying our caravan and can't wait for our adventures. We have joined the Caravan Club and really look forward to meeting some of you on travels.
