Water point connectors

Hi All,

We are going on our first trip this weekend and almost organised although I've not done one thing, which seems a stupid question, but thought I'd ask.

The one thing I've not done is a water point pipe so when I go and fill the aquaroll I can connect my hosepipe to the external taps on the caravan site.

I've got waterpipe, but what connectors do I need to connect to the water point external taps.

Many thanks

Phil.

Better than a tap connector, we and numerouse  others tend to use a 2ft length of solid domestic waste pipe with a loop of cord attached to one end to loop over the service point tap

Most taps are a normal outside type tap with a thread suitable for a hose lock connector. Mostly you just push the rubber end of hose over & fill the aqua-roll. Sometimes there's that much pressure that the hose will tend to be pushed off (which is where JBV's 2' waste pipe comes into its own) other times there's barely any pressure at all.

2 inch waste pipe is the best way I have found. Sometimes site receptions sell them.

Also a vote for this system, when we did it. Bought one from the wardens at Hawes many years ago. The quickest / easiest way of filling the aqua roll we found. You will of course need a range of connectors if you ever use a service pitch.

Maybe not such a good idea to leave it at home! When I was topping up the tank on our new motorhome with a watering can, perfectly good system, I couldn't get the watering can under the tap at Moreton in Marsh because of the stupid design of the service point taps. Had I had my waste pipe I would have ended up a lot dryerwink

We too use the domestic waste pipe idea with a loop of elasticated cord which can be looped over the tap when the aquaroll is filling. So much easier than the flexible pipe with the rubber connector and never a problem of falling off due to high pressure water.
