According to our Thetford toilet cassette manual, we need special toilet paper for use with it. We haven't been able to get hold of this. Is it ok to use the normal paper, or will it cause problems?

two different types of toilet ... your thick & quilted won't tend to break down the same as the cheaper stuff and you have a chance of not emptying the cassette as easily. At home you have a a sewage system ... you don't on a caravan.

Nonsense - since the stuff was invented we’ve never had an issue with emptying the tank.

Yes! What a good idea. Someone should ask NCC to do an approved list of the ones which comply. Compliance is what we want, and a seal of approval. There could be grades too. Top grade for the individual portions in packets, and bottom grade for the great unwashed.

Just beware that atmospheric pressure change, the Thetford can get its revenge and you your own back!
