Standard or serviced pitch?

Hi everyone, newbie here! Worried

My husband is taking his towing test tomorrow and we are hoping to set off with our new caravan at the end of August (staying fairly local).

I wanted to head down to Looe in cornwall as the site looks nice for children of which i have 3! (8yrs,4yrs and 2yrs). I have looked at availability and there are only standard pitches available. I have looked at the difference between standard and serviced but was looking for opinions on the reality of this and if it will prove more difficult with 3 kids in tow if we opt for the available standard pitch?

It says that serviced pitches provide drinking water hook up, is this instead of the aqua roll then?

I expect thats a really stupid question Laughing

thank you in advance!

I would not pay £3 50 a night for a service pitch it is not worth the money. Aquaroll lasts 2 days so does the waste water.

Why pay £3.50 for something that is not used everyday.

Not if you want to use the shower and do the washing up.

We do the washing up in the caravan as for the shower we use the clubs which is bigger and better than the one in the caravan. Remember money doesn't grow on trees £3.50 is a lot of money when you don't use use the facilities. If you have money to throw away throw it my direction I will always take it.

I have never felt the need for a serviced pitch, I kind of like getting out to empty the waste and fill the water carrier. I guess if your not too mobile or disabled then a serviced pitch may come into its own. I have tried a serviced pitch but for me a standard pitch is fine.

In your opinion ...... for some that's small price to pay

I don't want or (yet) need a serviced pitch. I do remember being on the CC site near leek on the lowe level about 7 years ago. There was an older chap that used a walking frame outside the caravan. He used a single walking stick to take his aquaroll for filling. I pulled it back uphill for him happily. Yep for some a serviced pitch would be better

Best of luck with the test.

Not essential but many of us carry and fill a 5 litre water container daily for drinking water only - rather than drink what comes through the system.  It's just personal choice.

I have used a serviced pitch but that was the 'regulation issue' on a site that was already very cheap. I haven't reach the point yet from an agility point of view where I would pay for it.
