I am new to caravaning, I bought a new lunar clubman s.I. with a solar panel, my question is do I leave the electric turned on when in storage for the solar panel to charge the battery? Thanks for any kind comment.

Peter I am not familiar with the Lunar set up but being a new caravan I presume the panel has been fitted with a decent control charger which as the name implies actually regulates the amount of charge given to the battery. That being the case it would be best to leave it switched on as it will keep your battery topped up. That helps if you need to use a mover and also maintain any alarms etc drawing power.

i think the op means leave the master on, in that case NO. the charger will be connected directly to your battery and charge it without the master being on. You dont want your electrics live when in storage.

Correct, switch off the main switch, the solar will do its job with the switch off

I have a Delta TS with a solar panel. The panel is linked directly to the battery via a regulator so there is no need to leave the caravans electrics on. If you switch the power off at the control panel the solar panel will still charge the battery.

As above. We have a solar panel on our Swift and its there to keep the battery topped up. No need to leave anything turned on. It's like a trickle charger to keep the battery happy. Not sure how it will perform in the darker months.

Depends on the size of the solar panel if its over 75watt the Lunar control panel cant cope and it has to be connected to the battery mine is 150 roof mounted
