Polishing acrylic windows

Having newly got our little Rapido pop-top, I've given it a decent wash before winter sets in, though had to stop polishing before it got too dark just now.

I realise that discussing polish and caravans is dangerously like asking woodwind musicians which sort of oil they prefer for the bore, but... I've got Turtle wax, as being non-abrasive. It's fine on the paint and the GRP, but do I dare use it, with very gentle motion only, on the acrylic windows, or just leave them well rinsed?

Thanks,

RIchard

Acrylic windows scratch very easily, so don't polish them unless there is a problem with scratches already. Keep a soft clean cloth, and use it only for the windows. There are special polishes if you are trying to remove or lessen scratches which are a  problem for you.

Thanks, that's useful, and reinforces my gut feeling. They're shining nicely after just lots of water, while I was rinsing the rest of it, so I think I'll leave them that way, then.

I don't polish my windows but if they get scratched I use T Cut to remove the scratches, I've tried the 'proper' stuff but find T Cut works better and have not had any problems. I'll probably find I've worn a hole in the window in a few years time but will have to wait and see!

T-cut? Wow... we used that years ago on our first car, a Datsun Cherry. You're right, it did wear it away... we used it to make the poor thing shiny for our wedding, but afterwards had to get it re-sprayed, it was never the same! Laughing
