Hi. I have got a problem with my 12v lights etc in my caravan. I have checked the battery and the indicator on the battery says it's fully charged. I have just been on a site with ehu so it should be charged. I only noticed this last week as I have a motor mover it wouldn't work and nothing showing on battery meter inside the caravan. Does anyone know what I can check to sort this problem out. Many thanks in advance

do you have a switch for caravan or car in your van

in the ranger there is one at the door  to switch off and on the 12v system

Have you checked the main battery fuse, it should be located not far from the battery in the positive lead.

I thought the motor mover was on a seperate circuit from everything else. Don't you switch on the mover with a switch near the batteriy box? If the mover doesn't work when switched on and the caravan 12v is dead when switched on then the problem must be with the battery or its leads.Does it have an in line fuse in the main red cable coming from the battery? Is that OK? Might be worth checking the cables are securly fixed to the battry termonals. Are they clapmed on? Is the clamp loose? Are the nuts tight on the battery terminal connector? Give them a wiggle!! If loose, tap them lighgtly with a hammer and do the nuts up tight.

We've just had something similar with our caravan. So, after a few mins, I checked every fuse and found that the fuse for the Battery had blown. One fuse later, all 12v worked again. Sounds similar to your problem

Battery could be flat. Just because it was (possibly) being charged does not mean it will have taken the charge. Do you have anything 12v that clips onto a battery you could use to test?   or a meter?  But test on the battery terminals not something clamped to them.

If it IS charged then work along the wires until you come to somewhere that there isn't any power and you have just passed the faulty part
