Hi, welcome to the world of caravanning! If a site you wanted appears to be fully booked now, keep looking at availability. Peoples plans change and spaces often become available later in the year. We have been able to extend stays this way, perhaps two or three days. Once , at Hawes, these extra three days were the best, weather wise, of our stay

Enjoy your caravan but don't give up cruising. Smile It is only a few honey pot sites that get fully booked early on and you  will find plenty of availability throughout the year at other sites.

Very few sites book up that quickly. Most will have plenty of capacity but you do need tp get in fairly early for bank holidays.

Welcome to the wonderful world of touring.  Like you we bought a fairly old van when we started "just in case" we did'nt like it.  Our first weekend away it howled a gale with thunder and lightening and everyone presumed that first trip out would be our last. We loved it!  That was 5 years ago and we now own a new van.  We try to get out all through the year and mostly stay on little CL sites.  We have had the most fantastic short stays and long holidays and although we are not going away for Christmas (we did last year) it would'nt be long before we are off somewhere.

Hi tracyp, welcome to caravanning and the Caravan Club. don't forget that there are alternatives to the Club Sites if you can't get booked on the one you hoped for. There are a lot of really good CLs around which will usually work out cheaper than the sites. Also take a look at rallies as they offer something different again.
