Getting Ready for winter

Drain every drop of water from it but if you use it regularly every few days you shouldn’t need to do anything else. We don’t.

i cant offer any specific usage advice, you'll know how ypu use ypur van better than me, however one tip specifically for winter...

depending, perhaps, on which part of the country youre in, you may be susceptible to snap cold frosts and, if so, you may want to drain your water system down if you deem it necessary.

For weekends away, we don't refill the water system. We use campsites with facilities including electric hook up [chosen in locations where the weather forecast says it'll be warmer there] and carry water in a 5l container plus a toilet spray. Whatever approach you take, you need to think about the extent to which your motorhome is 'winterised'. It is not unknown for water systems to freeze up on site whilst you are snuggly warm under the duvet. Some people leave their waste tank open on site to drain the water into a suitably placed bucket [no chance of the waste water freezing in the van]. If you are using gas for heating, make sure you have some!

Glad you've enjoyed to first 6 months. There is something magical about eating hot sandwiches and drinking tea inside the van whilst watching the frost thaw outside.
