Do you really need one. Where/when would you use it as you would not be popular with neighbours, even with the likes of the 4 stroke Honda.

I would advise against. They are noisy and many sites will not allow them. Why do you think you'll need a gennie? Far better to explore the solar route.

Presumably you are thinking of going 'off grid' and not using sites with electrical hook ups (EHU.)

Fine, but do be aware that even the quietest genny makes a noise and there is a possibility of annoying any neighbour camping next door to you. So do not use on a campsite, alongside others, if possible.

Please can you explain why you would be thinking of getting a generator? I would help to give advise if you go down that route ,but i agree with other posters if near others when using it

I would agree with others, you will not be popular on a site if you run a generator.

If you need EHU, use a site with EHU, or invest in solar panels and refillable gas bottles.

There is not much you cannot do with solar panels, good battery/ies and an inverter. I have a 1 Kva generator, it has been sitting in my garage for the best part of 10 years. the only reason I keep it is for occasion use to power tools and as a back up for electricity failures so far not encountered.

My motorhome is equipped with s solar panel, an 180APH AGM battery and a 750w inverter. This meets all my needs including charging bike batteries or running a slow cooker.

I would think seriously about whether you really need a generator or not.

There is an almost silent option available, the Efoy Fuel Cell Generator,  but it will cost almost an arm and a leg!
