I take it the increased gas pressure will be fine for my appliances then?

Shouldn't be a problem.

Where did you get the van? If from a dealer it should have had a gas check before you picked it up.

If you bought private it might be worth getting the system checked out for peace of mind.

We had the same model ( slightly older) as our first van, We loved it and wished we had kept it. Came fully loaded, cassette toilet, shower, hot water full oven, a real tardis. Hope you enjoy.

Red bottles are Propane and require a 37mbar regulator they will power your appliances OK and are better when temperatures are low.

arent most modern regulators (eg Truma fitted to many new vans) 30mb and can cope with Butane or Propane supply?

if so, why not fit one of these and then you can run either?

Frank: Your right it's a fantastic van, we we amazed at how much stuff those clever Poles had crammed into such a small unit!  I love the fact that it's a one piece fiberglass shell so damp should never trouble us.

Biljul: Yes thats why I wanted to change over to the red propane bottles, that way we can still use our van in the winter.

BeleroBoy: That sounds like an excellent idea!

I would advise you to avoid the bulkhead regulator as these are less reliable than the bottle regulators. Simply change your existing butane regulator for a propane regulator. Replace the flexible hose with a nice new bit at the same time. Get your gas system pressure tested by an AWS service person after and you will be good to go.
