Flooring for awning

Can anyone suggest what they use for the flooring of their awning. We have a seasonal pitch and with this recent weather the rain water soaked through our groundsheet and up through the awning carpet resulting in wet feet and wet dogs too. We were thinking of going down the route of pallets and MDF but not sure. Any suggestions greatly received. We are in Perranporth.
