First post - Booking confusion

Ok...please be nice. This is my first post. We had a caravan when our boys were little, about 25yrs ago but didn’t get much experience at the time before selling up. What I do remember is that the sites we went on at the time were all grass. So improvement or not, I’m still confused with how this booking malarkey works?  I’ve been on the on line  booking site, which was fine btw, and first place I’ve booked for March (Broadway) gave me an option of hs or grass, with or without awnings, services or standard.  I’ve booked hs standard.  The second, in July, (White House Beach) only has choice of awning or not. No awnings are fully booked, I guess cos they’re on the seafront, but no choice of hs or grass for the others? According to the list Broadway has 92 hs and 4 grass and we get a choice. White House has 80 hs and 32 grass. Doesn’t make sense why we can book hs at one but not the other? Also, what happens when you turn up at the site when no one can book in till 12? Is there a long line of caravans/motor homes etc waiting their turn and it’s first in first choice? Do people that turn up on a chance get to choose before those that booked if there are places available and they’re in the queue first? I’m so sorry this has turned into such a ramble. Feel free to ignore it or dissect it and try to give me answers that I can’t seem to find in q&a.  I’ve learned such a lot from this forum already so I’ll just keep ploughing through all the other queries until I happen across ones the same as ours.

HI Kassiepoo. I am a long time member. There is no option to book a hard standing on CMC sites - just Awning, Non-awning or Serviced pitches which have water and waste water on pitch for an extra £3.90 a night. On arrival you choose the pitch that you want of the type that you have booked (awning, non awning or serviced).

I know that for some reason the Broadway site does show a grass with awning option. If you look through the various months all days are shown as not avaiolable. Very strange and confusing but I suspect that there are no grass pitches on that site.

Generally if it is 12am arrival that is the earliest that you should arrive. I use about 14 different CMC sites a year along with other sites and when I arrive (usually around 12.15pm) there are normally none to 3 other units before me.

I usually book an awning pitch and as there are more of these I will get a better choice of pitches normally. On some sites I may book non awning due to their prime position. I don't actually use an awning at present

JK's on a different site this year and not on duty until May. You'll have to confuse me all on your own.🥺

That's it ..... muddy the water laughing

The true option should be awning or non awning. It just so 'appens that on this site all non awning pitches are on grass. Obviously CC did not want to confuse folk. Don't tell TW

With  apologies  if  I'm  reading  the  post  incorrectly  {  I  don't  usually  try  folks  patience  by  correcting  other  peoples  posts  }  BUT

I  think  Oneputt's  in  urgent  need  of  Breakfast  smile  'cos  I  reckon  the  first  line  should  read:--

Just  because  you  stipulate  an  awning  pitch  it  does  NOT  mean  that  you  have  to  put  the  awning  up.

No but if you book a non awning pitch at Warwick you will only get a hardstanding...onwards and upwards in the confusion stakes. laughing
