After a couple of years towing a trailer tent, I've finally bought a caravan.

The idea was to get used to it gradually, well things never work out as planned. I was going to keep the trailer tent for long trips as I only a had a 1.6 scenic. Towing the caravan I did spend some time on my first trip away slowing down in fifth on the slightest slope.

Well the best laid plans of mice and men. I fell and broke my elbow while working on the caravan. With a holiday on the isle of wight booked I could no longer take the trailer tent. The scenic. Would not have done the 4 hours each way tow.

So I've now sold the trailer tent and swapped the scenic for a 2 liter petrol Laguna.

Not my first choice but limited budget. The dealer advised that the Laguna wasnt limited by the silly Renault driver only towing rules. He lied after downloading the manual I find that the Laguna can tow exactly the same as the scenic. Good job my caravan is an light van weighing in at 1000kg mplm exactly the cars limit.

Well fingers crossed it behaves better than the scenic.
