Hi, my family (2 children 1yo and 5yo) are new to caravanning, in fact we don't even have a van yet =). We drive a 2008 VW Golf TDI 2.0 which as far as I can tell (eg from http://www.towcar.info/advise_2.php?page=4&merk=Volkswagen&serie=Golf&periode=0) wouldn't be happy to pull much more than 1200kg. We had considered buying another car (08 Tiguan perhaps, or something else not too hard on fuel) and a tent (and then a caravan in a couple of years), but are now considering sticking with the golf and looking for a mega lightweight caravan. I quite like the look of the Elddis Xplorer range and the 304 (http://www.elddis.co.uk/xplore/xplore-304) has an MTPLM of only 1100kgs. So, was wondering if anyone had any experience of these, or any thoughts - is 'lightweight' just a synonym for poor quality/flimsy??

Thanks in advance for any advice.
