Drying awning

We had to pack away the awning while damp last weekend and it's not looking like we're going to be able to put it in the garden the dry out.....apart from getting fousty what other damage is being left going to cause?

We don't have the room to put it up in the house.

It may lead to mildew spots which might be difficult or impossible to remove.  Can you hang it in a friend's garage for a day or two?

We put ours in the stables or over the washing line in the garden.  If it gets wet and dry for a week or so it doesnt matter its spread out.  The non- canvas awnings dont seem to bother if they are put away wet though

Thanks everyone. Will try putting it in the garage although I'm not sure that will help as our garage is quite damp!

We have been known to spread tents out in our garage to dry. I think the important thing is the spreading  out to let air circulate. Move it round too, so no bits end up being folded under and not getting aired

Yes I agree that to spread out the awning, even in a damp garage will not hurt and as soon as the sunshine is back just put it outside. Will soon dry up.

I've had the same proble, what I did was to put mine over the shower screen after detaching the front & side panel. Then dried the front & side panels.

The curtains I took off as they were washable (they've been washed & ironed).

Ok bit of a hassle unless you've got a friend who's garage you can borrow.

Hope this helps.

Andrew

We've managed to get it out in the garden hanging over the fence, am really hoping for sun tomorrow as my poor plants won't like being in the shade for long... now I just need to stop the dog from peeing up it!!
