Have a look at this website https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/low-emission-zone/check-if-your-vehicle-is-affected you can enter your registration number and it will tell you if there are any restrictions.

The LEZ zone is within the M25 but does not cover everything within the M25 see map here. The London Congestion Charge only covers a relatively small area in Central London, see map here.
For anyone visiting Abbey Wood for the first time they might like look at my site report here which gives an alternative approach route to the site which is a little easier than the Club route.

Not intending to undermine davids suggested route, it's a good one!
But as a local, I pick my times to go that way and personally prefer the recommended route, and that's even when solo. Traffic can be a nightmare along that route, especially up to the fish roundabout at Erith.

I suppose with most things connected with roads in London and the M25 timing is everything. I have used both routes, originally using the one recommended by the Club but thought it went through to many built up areas. I therefore looked for an alternative and tried the one via Erith and having used it once in each direction it is a route I would use again. Fortunately I did not experience any hold ups either way. You just have to watch when you join the M25 if heading north towards Dartford as the slip road is not that long!!!

Thanks to all for your help.
I did not realize that vehicle pollution control had the two elements, LEZ and Congestion Zone.
I looked on the LEZ website as suggested above and I also find I am exempt, and needles to say I will not be driving in Central London.
I will look at both suggestion for directions to Abbeywood and am aiming to be driving at the quietest time!
It seems logical to me to park-up and use London transport and then someone else can do the navigating.

I too don't use the CC recomended route and more or less use the same route as DK. It is the route my Tom Tom takes me from the M25 and I think it is much easier than the recommended route. I am driving a 7m MH but don't think there would be any problems for tuggers, only they can decide that.
One thing to bear in mind when visiting London is that buses don't take money. You can use your bus pass if you have one but otherwise it is card payment only. Oystercard is one but there may be others.
