hi I dont know if anybody can help

New to motor caravanning at least as disabled .

Have purchased a ford transit 1997 but need to take my disabled scooter with me weight 40 kg
the van is fitted with a cycle rack at back, rated at 35 kg
Where I need advice for is ,is it feasible to use the cycle rack to carry the scooter ,and if so what is the best way of getting it up there, height needed to lift 43 inches of solid ground. and will the doors hold the weight. Can stand for several min enough to operate a manual or electric hoist

Peter.

Is the weight with or without battery? Could you easily remove the battery?

The Battery on OHs scooter is detachable to enable on vehicle or remote charging ,which can save quite a bit of weight

the two scooters I've had experience of have both come apart into 3 bits (motor/seat/main body) plus batteries to allow them to be put into the back of a vehicle
