I am getting my car tow bar electrics swapped over next Monday too 13 pin from 7 pin but I want to go and buy a caravan at the weekend and tow it home, can I get an adaptor to allow 7 pin tow bar to connect to 13 pin caravan electrics, and if I can what won’t work if I did this permanently rather than paying to get 13 pin electrics fitted

Yes, you can get adapters. Check online sellers. It might depend on your individual set up what won’t work but it’s better to do a rewire for permanent use. An adapter will always give you one more chance of something not working - a weak link.

you need one of these .... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313007707333?hash=item48e0b694c5:g:lSYAAOSw55peUnZ4 you can get them the other way round too.

It'll just give you basic lighting on your caravan. What won't work will be the fridge, leisure battery charging, ATC if fitted and reverse lights
