Aquaroll cleaning

What, if anything, do people here do to clean their Aquaroll?  Had mine for a while and rinse it out with fresh water before use but conscious that this will not necessarily remove any nasties that build up over time.  Should I be filling and using some sort of treatment chemical to 'steralise' the inside of the Aquaroll?

Thanks for your comments,

Nathan.

Sorry, looked on the Aquaroll website which I should have done first.  Was going to just delete post but thought I would paste info in case this is interesting for other newbies!

At the beginning and end of every season make sure that you throughly clean your Aquaroll before storing it away as this is help stop any unwanted odours occurring. We recommend you that you only use bicarbonate soda to clean the inside of your Aquaroll. Add four heaped table spoons into an empty Aquaroll. Then fill the Aquaroll full of water. Swill it around then leave for 24 hours.

We use Puriclean tablets dissolved in the water to run through our water system at the beginning of each season. We let the solution sit in the aquaroll for an hour before we start the run through, we let it sit in the pipes, then leave it in the wastemaster for a good while before emptying. This way we feel everything gets sufficient contact time.

We use Milton sterilising solution. Good idea cleaning out at the beginning of a season. We also do it at the end of a long holiday, especially if the barrels are going to be standing for a while

We also use Puriclean, have done for years. We fill the aqua rolls with the appropriate Puriclean/water mix and then leave them for 24 hours. We then empty them and refill with another mix which we pump into the caravan. We leave this for another 24 hours and then drain and flush with clean water. We do this at the start of the season and this has proved to be effective. Unlike, I know, some members, we drink cold water direct from the caravan taps and have never had any problems.

We fill once a year with a milton solution & leave for an hour before thoroughly rinsing & putting the aquaroll into it's carry bag - with the filler cap off ! This keeps any tiny residue from becoming stagnant or odours building up. Never had any problems since using this method - sanctioned by OH is a microbiologist.

We use Puriclean too, allow it to stand in Aquaroll and van pipework at least overnight and flush through with clean water twice afterwards.

We do it at the start of the season and then again before any trips later in the year.  We too drink the water from the taps.
