Having recently visited a Moto services, I am appalled at the lack of signs and parking for caravans and motor homes.

After driving round twice and seeing 8 empty coach spaces (which are in a safe area to access toilets ) But no caravans allowed, we had to park in the lorry park in between the artics.  I then had to negotiate a safe route around the two large areas before crossing in front of the  lorry fueling area before making it to the pavement and the services toilets! ( no safe pedestrian route).

Surley, there should be a area dedicated to caravans, which gives a safe passage to the facilities..... So glad I didn't have young children to take with me....

Is there a list of services which have better facilities, or can the caravan club lobby for safer access??

There is this thread motorway service area reports, which may help. Unfortunately provision is often very poor / totally inadequate and signage very confusing. Even at services that have good provision there are not enough spaces to cope with holiday periods. We are fortunate that we are retired and try to travel on a Sunday, when there is usually plenty of space in the HGV area.

Over to HQ for an answer to this situation which has been with us for years without much improvement.

Also go to "Caravan & Motorhome Chat" page. there is a dedicated section on motorway parking

Just looked at the chat discussion and it looks like this is the norm.....

maybe time to boycott the services and take a packed lunch and have the loo ready, so I can use a layby instead..,,
