I am very hopeful that some of you experienced caravaner's/motorhomer's will be able to give me some advice on staying overnight on my trip down. I am travelling in mid January down to Spain, couldn't get the ferry to Santander unfortunately however I have looked at sites down the route I wish to take which is generally keeping to the west of France to try and avoid wintery conditions and so far I have been unable to find any sites that are either open or full. It was suggested to try using the French Aires as overnight stops but even the travel section at the club offices do not really recommend them, so any suggestions on what I should do, any suggestions would help as I can at least investigate them further. As of last year the following campsites were open in winter on your route across France.

Bounty Lakes near Le Mans

Les Acacias near Tours

Le Futuriste near Poitiers

Montreal at St Germain les Belles

Les Violettes near Toulouse

+others on Mediterranean coast

But check individually with them.

When we ventured that way in late February a few years ago we normally stopped at Le Futuriste at Poitiers, many Brits use it.

We then headed down to a site near Caussade just off the A20 at Septfonds, Camping Le Bois Redon

Bois Redon

The camping navigator website that the above site is found on is also a good guide for you.

As ET says, it's best check with any site just in case circumstances have changed.
