Hi everyone

Does anyone have the pull out awning?

Is it advisable to leave it out overnight? Do we need the storm awning straps? Or do most of you put it in every night?

We are eager to make our trips as easy as possible 😀😀

Check weather forecasts they are right at times, if it is going to be really windy then roll away,,storm straps can help at times as the leg pegs can pull out

We have a Thule, we leave it out if the forecasts are ok, nearly always use the storm straps to keep things steady.

I only ever leave ours out overnight if it is guaranteed flat calm and also no rain ( I rarely get it wet and never roll it in wet ) . To replace it would be in excess of £700, plus any damage it may cause to the van if it came adrift and it just isn't worth the risk as it's very quick to roll in.

We probably use ours differently as it's also been a good shelter to keep the rain off when bringing dogs back from walks etc. Ours is integral to the vehicle so it's housing is in the van. We use it wet or dry, it's lasted well. One good point to remember if using it like we do is to lower one end slightly so that rain doesn't collect anywhere. smile
