Our first new motorhome

Hi John and welcome to Club Together.  Good to hear you're finally about to take delivery of your MH.

It might be helpful to find answers to specific questions if you have a look at the sections and post individual queries in the appropriate places so we can keep this section as intended, i.e. just for introductions.  Parts and Accessories would be one section you'd need for things like bikes and solar panels etc.

someone else will nelp you with trailers and, perhaps, quad bikes, bit a couple of things....

a solar panel wont jusr supply power for a fixed period (you mention two weeks), it will continue adding power to your batteries while there is available light...

having more places to capture (larger panel) and store this light (larger or multiple batteries) will help you maximise the sin as a resource.....

see the 'survive without EHU' thread in the 'touring cheaper' section for plenty of advice on solar panels and using a refillable gas tank to slash costs, allow filling anywhere in europe by using adaptors, and saying goodbye to 'the orange umbilical' which will, in turn, increase your scope of stopping points (useful for aires/stellplatzen in europe) a d reduce those camping costs should you choose no-facilities/no-ehu sites li,e CLs or Temporary Holiday Sites....

the other thing, i would always go for a standalone satnav due to potential issues with updating or replacement when the time somes......i have two tomtoms...

Hi congrats on you new mh and welcome from another newbie to the site. We have insured all our motorhomes with Safeguard they give breakdown cover with the AA too. This was invaluable to us once

Have a look at a Blaupunkt 945 Capetown they are a rather nice Android Head Unit. Runs IGO9 software.

As for a trailer have you ordered a MH with a tow bar or are you going to get one fitted.

A 150w Solar Panel will give you ample power with a 100amp leisure battery. Get everything yo can in 12v version. Inverters consume large amounts of power.

I never knew that about inverters Q4, is that why everything 12v is more expensive? Saying that we always do buy 12v so I'm saving myself power without realising it
