Opinions on various Sat Navs for Motorhomes

I have just bought an Autotrail motor home and on my first holiday in Devon & Cornwall realized that the sat nav is not suitable for a motor home as it cannot be programmed to know how big the vehicle is so it sent me along various narrow roads causing a little bit of embarrassment.

I have checked with TomTom and the sat nav model fitted in the vehicle cannot be upgraded to be motorhome friendly so I need to buy another one. Can anyone give me some guidance as to which ones are the most user friendly and reliable from personal experiences for a motor home ?

Thank you

I have the Avtex Camper Satnav by Garmin that you can enter the size of your vehicle - caravan or motorhome.  It is good but its not infallable - I believe it is still essential to use the Handbook for directions to club sites.  Good luck - others have said in that thread about ones for truckers.

I favour >Co-Pilot< running on a tablet. They were offering 30 percent off the caravan version recently. Plenty have asked the same question on CT before. If you do a Google search using the term "sat nav + Club together" you should find the majority of these to browse.

I favour using a map in conjunction with a sat nav and using it to identify  unsuitable roads of which there are many in the Westcountry.
