hi all. I bought myself a folding camper and am really excited to get out and about. The idea was when I finish work on a Friday, I can put my dog in the car, hitch up and pitch up somewhere far from the madding crowd! I’ve been away with my family and we all loved it, but I cannot flip the bed boards by myself. As a community in general, if I turned up at a site by myself, would help be available either from staff or other pitchers to flip the boards? I hate having to ask anyone for help but being only 5ft I can’t even raise it above my head!! I also had an idea to fit gas struts (like on an ottoman bed) to help lift them. Is this even possible? Or some sort of winch?? Or any other suggestions would be most appreciated

Good morning mbq and welcome to our hobby.  Although we cannot guarantee that either fellow campers or wardens will help I am certain that all you would need to do is ask your pitch neighbours and I am sure they would help.  Perhaps a good idea not to arrive too late in the evening though (see you posted at 0027hrswink).

PS.  My wife is also only 4ft 11in so I know what you mean!

Welcome to the club and CT mbq. I'm sure that you will not have any problems enlisting the help of other like minded people to help you pitch up. Enjoy your new hobby.
