Good afternoon
My wife and I have bought our first outfit in August. A 1982 Compass Commodore Rallye. She is beautiful. Starting in the spring we will begin to beautify her a little as she is a little droopy around the edges. How many members have tackled a vintage caravan up cycle? Do you have any tips?

Hello to you both. I've not been tempted to try my hand at renovating a caravan, but there are certainly others on here that have and will be able to give you advice and share their experiences I'm sure. Hello Charmaine and Stacy! Yes, we have restored one and about to start on our second over the Winter, if we can find time. Both Cotswold Windrushes, one we sold last year, for a small profit, the other we still have, and intend renovating. Both date from 1984.
The one we sold needed quite a bit of sorting, damp on one side wall, caused by damaged sealant and loose trim screws. OH sorted out exterior, then cut out damaged interior and templated new inside. Once recovered, you would never have guessed van had ever had a problem. We used this van for eight years all seasons, without any problems.
The van we still have needs a good overhaul in terms of decor, new foam and covers. Sound as a pound in terms of damp though, dry as a bone, which is not bad for 32 years old. We intend putting in a new cooker hob, heating fire has been replaced, OH is half way through new water heater. Going to renew paint on exterior, and then revamp the inside! This will be the fun bit, trying to decide on what to choose!

We have a list as long as your I think. New cooker/hob, sink, cushions, heating, curtains, renewing paint inside and out. Would you recommend tekaloid paint with a roller or spray on the exterior? We have the fabrics and I have the skills just have to fit it all into every Sunday until I have finished!!!!
Anything like this?
