Have any members used this road recently as we are going to Benicarlo in Spain via Bilbao in April and want to know if it's suitable for towing a caravan as think it's a more direct route than the AP2 motorway

Hi there,

We travelled from Bilbao (Brittany Ferries) to Tamarit north of Tarragona using the autostrada - I mention this because it is relatively relaxed drive of approx 350 miles coats to coast on the autostrada. No experience of the N232 towing however I cycled extensively through the Penedes hills on back roads and would have happily towed our 8' wide Coachman on any of these roads. Generally road surfaces are excellent and traffic light. Never used this route as a friend did and said never again, we travel Bilbao to Peniscola

AP68 (toll) to Zaragoza AP2 (toll free) to the AP7 (toll free) to Peniscola. If we need stop overnight we use Cambrills (ACSI). Its an easy drive, all motorway. You can save 20 mile by leaving the AP2 at J9 Montblanc and use the C14 to AP7 this will save milage but not time.

Enjoy your trip/holiday

Hi, we just did Urgene near Irun border to Penisicola. Tolls added up to about £21, towing a caravan. A very good drive and decent road all the way.
