Motorhome practicality for parking

We have been caravanning for years and are considering a smaller (6M) van conversion motorhome for short duration trips , hoping that we will be able to park reasonably close to places of interest . But with small parking spaces and height barriers will that be possible ? . Clearly we dont expect to be able to park in a town centre , but its been a tight fit to get a Land Rover into some Park and Ride parking .

Would be interested in members views and experiences.
