Hi all

After a rubbish experience back in June when we hired a very expensive dog friendly cottage in Cornwall which turned out to not quite so friendly as advertised , we have gone ahead and bought our first van! It's something we have talked about for years and we are excited to start our new adventures!

We will be travelling with our English Bulldog and two pugs and will probably have loads of silly questions......

Our first trip is in a few weeks back to Cornwall where our daughter lives but we hope to get to see  much more of the country as we get in the swing of things! We are also looking forward to meeting people along the way  - Hey we can't only talk to each other ha ha !!

Happy to be a part of all this :)

Regards Mel and Mark

Welcome from me M&M - ask away- we all did once and as Pippah says, if you don't know the answer, no question is silly. The combined knowledge on here is truly staggering and there will always be someone who can answer your questions no matter what the subject. I hope you have a fantastic experience with your new toy- so much better than a cottage!!

Hi Mel and Mark.  Welcome.  We're off to Merrose Farm the week after next.  Never been there before.  If that's where you're going too, we might bump into each other (not literally, I hope). wink

Welcome from me as well! Sad things didn't work out well with the cottage, but you won't regret buying a caravan. We take our dogs all over with us, long trips, short trips, beach, Moors and Dales! Always have a good time. All Club Sites take dogs, some are really good locations for dog walking, others not quite so good, but do check out the Certificated Location section on here and in your handbook. Some of these are absolute gems, very dog friendly and in brilliant locations. Cheap as chips as well!

Hope you all have a good timelaughing

Hi Guys I am a caravanning virgin! I have just done the towing course (it was brilliant and informative) and as a direct result of Jack who ran the course I pick our van up next Saturday. Very excited but also a bit hesitant but can't wait to get going!

Hi M&M, we have returned to the caravaning early last year for the very same reason as we have 2 border collies. In fact we have just returned (yesterday) from that part of the country. We spent 9 nights at the CC's Sidmouth site and can highly recommend it. and would be a good stop over on your way to Cornwall if you wanted to break up the journey.

If you need it I can post all the info for you on the dog friendly pub's beaches etc that we found whilst there.

Enjoy your new hobby smile
