Hi,
We've returned to caravaning following a break of a couple of decades, a recent flirt with a campervan and a decision to retire early. Having handed over more money than we paid for our first house, we are now the proud owners of a 2021 Swift Elegance 560 and its towcar a 2018 VW Touareg.
We've just returned from our maiden voyage to the Cotswolds and have trips planned in the next few weeks for the English Riviera, the Peak District and the Brecon Beacons. Pandemic permitting, the interest to tour France, Spain and Portugal is increasing. We're already learning that a lot of the fun is researching, learning and planning the next trip.
The current theme we are using for deciding where to tour is unique english eccentric events such as Cheese Rolling at Cooper's Hill, Flaming Tar Barrels in Otter St Mary and the Welly Wanging World Championships in Upperthong. Unfortunately many of these events are not happenning in 2021, but we're hopeful they will in 2022. If they do, you'll find us in a nearby campsite. We'll be the couple with a matching caravan and car (by chance, not design, they are both white) and we'll be the one's asking a lot of daft questions about caravanning and eccentric english events.
