Hi VW. Sorry to see no replies to your post so far. Maybe a similar question in New to Caravanning would help. Though I know you're Motorhoming😐. And whereabouts are you? That will help determine what recommendations might be forthcoming. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest touring Scotland, for a minimum of a fortnight. But maybe best left to Spring? My favourites are Bunree on the West Coast and Dunnet Bay, away up the top. Scenery that will take your breath away. And if you prefer getting closer to nature, try Dallachulish CL, a wee gem surrounded by amazing views.

We have really enjoyed touring the UK over a number of years, have visited many lovely places both on the mainland and then off shore on various islands. Can't think of any advice just go and enjoy your travels and try different times of the year, winter is as interesting as summer.

Welcome  to  the  Fun  Factory  Bluey  --  you  will  get  loads  of  good  advice  on  here  ( some  of  it  contradicting  other  answers,  but  that's  due  to  us  all  being  very  individualistic )

Keep  taking  the  tablets,  the  advice  &  the  maps  to  the  open  roads 

As  for  the  must  haves  ==  try  a  couple  of  week-ends  (  or  similar  !! )  close  to  home  first  then  you  will  be  able  to  nip  home  for  the  "OOPS  I  forgot  them"  bits  that  you  may  have  in  the  back  of  the  garage or shed.

The  only  things  you  really  need  are,  in  MY  OPINION,  the  25 yard  mains  lead,  ditto  length  t.v. co-ax for  sites  of  poor  reception,  and  some  way  of  putting  clean  drinking  water  into  your  tanks.  I  have  a  9 foot  length  of  food grade  tubing  with  a  simple  tap  connection  and  a  nice  bright  red  watering  can..

(  I  maintain  the  w/can  is  for  the  tomatoes  or  similar    )

When  you  get  onto  a  C&MC site  ask  Nice Mr/Mrs  Warden  about  the  pitch  markers  that  the  Club  sells.  They  stop  those  'orrid  caravanners  nicking  your  pitch  if  you  go  off  site    !!

Hello and welcome.

Good advice above. Get away close to home for a night or two. You'll find you won't worry about how far from home you are 😉. But good to be able to grab a forgotten essential. Anytime of the year is great to explore, even it's day use - lovely to be able to park with facilities 😉. A good walk at the coast or through the countryside a nice warm van for a cuppa and or a meal, loo and heater. Oh yes great for watching the outside world people or wildlife.
