Controlling dogs - new booking system

Being members for over 30 years we are experiencing more issues with dogs barking and owners not willing to control them, which is ruining the enjoyment for people wanting to caravan in a pleasant environment.

With the new booking system looming, now would be an ideal opportunity to segregate dog owners to a separate area near to the dog walks and allow everyone to enjoy the environment without being disturbed.

The Club needs to address this issue and maintain high standards, as there appears to be more people with the same opinion.

If you wish to discuss dogs and touring - we already have a 'sticky' thread for this purpose so this thread has been locked.

The word on the street is that the new booking system will include a charge for dogs and a limit on their numbers. Can anyone confirm please?

Rowena started a thread several years ago, which is a sticky at the top of the UK sites and touring section called   Dogs and Touring,   as the one and only place for posts relating to dogs on sites. Personally I think such a policy would be unfairly discriminatory.

Dipper, if dogs cause a nuisance on site you need to report it to the warden. If the warden fails to act, contact the club. That's all there is to it - see the link provided by Steve.

Well, if that happens, I for one won't be using club sites anymore - just as a matter of principle.

Would that be”Wishful Thinking Street” by any chance😁 We visit there occasionally and ask for more space, less mowing and later arrivals in the Summer. So far it’s proven as elusive as Diagon Alley!😁

Hi,

I have an example of reporting the owners of a dog continually barking at gone 23:00 keeping people awake and woken up at 6:15 in the morning.

The wardens said they would have a word with them but couldn’t ask them to leave. I’m sure if that was people being noisy, they would be asked to leave !

Appreciate the roll of the wardens but come on…
