What is Temporary

I had a thread closed down over the weekend, the subject was Sepp Blatter!  Two posters then complained about it bring "Political" which I thought was extremely tenuous and based on their grievances rather than content? The duty Champion referred the thread to the CM for consideration, at this time the thread remains closed ?  The debate was good and friendly and gathering momentum,  I don't understand the ostrich policy towards this if its temporary then make decision?
