What happened to the Avatar?

I've noticed that in the last couple of weeks members avatars have been disappearing.

I haven't changed my laptop and even whilst away in a cottage am still using BT broadband but members who have avatars such as Bolero Boy and Peedee are now just blanking me.

Was it something I said or are others having this "problem"?

I'm using same equipment house broadband or mobile data as i always have and sometimes folks have their avatar sometimes then they don't. Can happen in the same thread from page to page. I'm talking about those who actually have them not those whose didn't come over. Madness but that's the joy of this site 😉😉. A year and a day old and everything works well 😂😂😂

Same thing happening here. Sometimes they are there, sometimes not. It has been happening for a couple of weeks.

See the other profile pic problems on here, other threads are available.

On my android phone more avatars are missing, on the laptop it's slightly better. Some load several minutes later.

I was clearing out some of my old mail and came across one I'd sent to Nick Lomas back in January asking for an indication when we could expect the website to run properly. One wonders if that line from an old carol will become apposite. "A thousand years have come and gone, And near a thousand more"

Have you had a response yet?

Where I worked there was a five working day window for responding to emails 😉

And today I can see Peedee's avatar.

I now think there's a young Whippersnapper in the IT dept who flicks a switch and makes certain ones disappear but just for a day or so and then flicks it back.

Anything to bemuse the older folk.
