Logged in via Chrome this am & Avatar had changed to seat which I did last night. Have changed to row of cottages just now to see if/how long it takes to show on here as it is not showing just yet.

It's a mystery 😉.  But full credit to you for persisting.

Really if you have to have a tutorial to show you how to post photos maybe it's too complex?? A bit like having a video to explain the rebrand 😉😉😉. What should be clear and simple - ain't 😔.

I've not seen a tutorial on fb or the BBC when hey ask for your photos 😉

Good to see you continued & added photos to your story.  As brue said somewhere posting pics on CT has also taught me things I would not have known so thanks to all who have posted info on CT.

Posting photos is easy enough straight from this iPad to forum. They are just so stupidly small !

"With a pc and the right browser big pics are possible"

Chas, I think I missed your point?

ET posted an image that when clicked displays at about 5 and a half inches by 4.

Your images show at 5 and a half inches by 4......ie the same size on my particular PC?

Obviously different screen sizes and set ups will show at different sizes.

PS. My attitude to the CC is that the image posting system and the resulting image is simply an insult to all members.

You're right: it should just a simple 'insert photo here' system with automatic sizing.

My point is/was that it is possible to display a page-width photo which is directly viewable, not in a pop-out, without clicking on a thumbnail.

The quality of the thumbnails when enlarged by right clicking is better than larger photos. I much prefer thumbnails. It is fairly easy to edit/resize to 500 (once you have a go and pick a reasonable photo) and the results on here, when enlarged as explained, look better than larger photos. IMHO  Famous Shetland bus stop photo. smile

Chas...yes of course...thanks.

The obvious limiting factor is the very small size of the forum viewable area which just makes matters worse!

On my PC the actual viewing area for forum script/images is 29% of the monitor width....with Windows Edge...IE 11 is a few percent wider and on a laptop I use it is 24%.

Brue the trouble is when an image is only 5" wide on a medium sized PC screen much detail is unreadable.

Still, things won't changefrown

You can right click to enlarge as said or you could right click and "open image in a new tab" and then use zoom. Much depends on the original image how much detail you'll see. This is using a laptop. If I use my Android phone I can easily enlarge the images just by touching the screen.
