Towing cover feedback please

Hello

Our ProTec towing cover has finally disintegrated after 5 years constant use. Clearly, we need to replace it and would like to ask for your advice? Which is the best to replace it with, in your opinion?

The first time we towed our caravan with the now deceased ProTec a stone chipped our front window (which we put down to bad luck, although was a little concerned about the level of protection it provided?), but regardless, we are looking at ether the £250 ProTec or the £199 Tow Pro, from Specialised Covers (we would like the Tow Pro Elite. But £399??).

If you have experience of either, can I invite you to let us know your thoughts on yours, please?

Thanks in advance

Can only comment on the one I have, I wanted what I thought was the best available at the time

Tow Pro Elite

Worth ever penny imho

Easy to fit or remove by one person but a bit easier with two, and always found a way to dry it when wet, home or away

Take off and store for longer trips, just fold down for shorter ones ...

(but, yes it is expensive)

I'm sure others use the ones that you have mentioned and will give advice?

We have an Elite, bought for our new 8’ wide van. Compared to the previous cover, I can see why they are ‘elite’. Much much better.

But .... and here’s where the opportunity may lie for you, PaulTS, we found it on eBay in as new condition........ and paid just £50 for it. Accepted that being 8’ wide, and happening to be for our caravan brand (Adria), was a stroke of luck, but you never know. Worth keeping an eye open.

Incidentally, our previous cover was the Specialised Covers Tow Pro. Nothing wrong per se, but much less protection (if you need it?) than the Elite, plus the opening panel for front locker obviously only on Elite.

Great advice. Thank you. I'm on the case.

Thanks very much, but unlikely to pay £399 I'm afraid. Very expensive.
