Smileys with a mind of their own!

Is anyone else having problems with those smileys? I try to put them in at the end of a post but they just seem to pop up at random, often at the very start of the post! Is there anything I can do about it?

In the meantime if my posts appear grumpier than usual you'll know why it is!!

See what I mean? (They were supposed to be at the end of each paragraph!)
