Silent sign out issue needs addressing

The website, rightly, automatically signs users out if it detects a period of inactivity.  This is a common feature of secure areas.

However the way it is implemented on this site needs improving in one respect.  It gives no warning that you are about to be logged out, where many system (online banking being one) provide a warning before logging you out, usually with the choice to remain logged in if required.

A couple of times now I have typed a post to send to this discussion forum, and then clicked the "Submit" button only to find that the system has silently signed me out and now takes me straight to the sign-in page.  In the process everything I have typed has vanished, and I have to sign in and start over again.

Can this be flagged as an issue to be addressed in a future upgrade of the website?
