I've started a thread just entitled 'Photos and Video' so as not to hi-jack the more specific Ipad related thread already started,  Hopefully this will give people the opportunity to discuss any general questions related to photos and perhaps to experiment posting.

Hope this helps.

The xmas bells are 68k BB, but they're not really there. They're on my Microsoft 'onedrive' with an active link. I've used the 'peedee' method: enter a bit of text, then drag and drop a photo from an open 'cloud' photo storage. It's a mystery how it works as it wasn't possible on the old website! (next photo is 600 pixels wide)

Recognize this spot BB?

I think you need to stick to 500 pixels max if you want to prevent scrolling over the image. 500 fits the enlargement. I think the CC said this is to prevent overload on the site.

I also believe this to be the case. Also, although you can get away with one large image. It will not load more than one or two of this size.

Holding on the image and selecting open in new tab prevents the need to scroll. On an iPad at least.

I thought that I had the system beaten with posting photos from Onedrive and Google - not so, it appears. Captain Cook and my Xmas bells have gone! My photo of the town hall at La Croix Valmer remains, somehow. I may just give up and retire gracefully from CT.cry

Brilliant - you did it. Merry Xmas.   I often find using my home WiFi is quicker earlier or later in the evening.   Possible HO were not working on CT site so there was less going on in the background.

Same here regarding access, Sunday evening is the slowest round here.

Well done Chasncath, hope you won't have to retire! wink

The nonsense of the situation is that people have to be inventive in order to get a decent size picture to display. The method can't, it seems be universally applied, you seem to have to use a certain type of photo storage and certain type of picture program. Let's hope they can adjust the way photos are inserted into the forum as yet again it seems far to complicated. My view  is that they should remove the five maximum photos allowed and move the "add photos" function to the menu bar above the text box. As photos have a URL they are not stored , or take up memory on the forum so they should appear the full width of the posting pane rather than appearing as a thumbnail. They should be automatically resized to posting pane width. It would be interesting to know what stands in the way of the Club achieving this?
