Posted on 26/10/2018 10:51 by brueI wonder why too, the present system just isn't up to the job, which in this day and age isn't value for money.
By the way although people talk about using sizing apps everyone should be able to do this on their phones in export and on your own pcs in edit. One thing for me having to find ways round this site to get things posted has improved my own limited knowledge.

Don't know about Android brue, but all using export on my iphone does is bring up various options, none of which relate to resizing.
To achieve that it is necessary to amend the settings so an appropriate App appears in export. Also of couse if you don't already have one, this would need to be downloaded.
In my case that is the image size app. This can also be used independently of course. However, it's a bit quicker if you tell it to appear on the export options screen.

On Android go to the three vertical dots on photos which brings up a short list including export. Export should then bring up size/mb, reduce the 0 x 0 size to 500, press done and use this for CT. I am surprised that Apple haven't got a similar set up, is it under "more" ...?
On pc just now will do a test via Android next.

Test. Montacute House resized to 500, android. It has lost the sharpness when expanded. Recently when no resizing was needed it was perfect when expanded.
Just looked up resizing on ipads, so you can't do this without downloading an app, one of the reasons I like android! I assumed wrongly that ipads were invincible....
