How odd

i usually browse CT on an ipad, generally in landscape mode and CC 'presents itself' as the normal full web site view...

i happened to turn the ipad to portrait while on the main Discussions page, and the view presented changed to 'mobile mode' as i would normally see on my phone...

i thought the view presented was to do with the device type being used (phone gives mobile view) although it doesnt seem as simple as this, with the orientation of the ipad seemingly being critical.

i wonder if using my iphone in landscape mode, the presentation reverts to the normal web view?

Unfortunately not BB. It would be nice as the quality of the display would be easily able to take it. However, it still stays in sideways scrolling mode.

As with the old site I used to use my pad locked in portrait, it took me a couple of hours to realise what they had done, when they launched the new site. Such was the quality of their communication.😱

The only consistent thing about this site is the inconsistency. One other good example is the duplicate posts which seem to be uncontrollable and lead to disappearing replies and I believe the 'resurrection' of old posts of the same title.

Many have tried to assist in bringing about improvement by contributing to the snagging list but to little effect. It may be time to just accept the reality that their is either no will  or no resources to bring about improvement.

Unless I am wrong the level of activity has already dropped considerably and many of the previously very active contributors have given up on CT.

I can't even sign in on my phone the option doesn't appear to be there!  I was confused by that on the iPad in portrait too!

I've just turned my iPad and couldn't see much difference.

It depends on what screen you are on papgeno. If you are on the specific thread screen, it is not much difference. However, on the discussions page it goes into sideways scrolling mode, the same as you get as standard on a phone.
