Emoticons and Mercury

Help needed for an iPad user...... Due to login in problems on my iPad using Safari, I took the advice of 'Beachwalker' and downloaded the free Mercury App, I now login this way and have very few problems with my iPad and it even seems to run faster on the CT forum. Although this has solved the log in problems and I have most of the facilities and features, ie follow this discussion, edit function after posting, the tool bar containing the Emoticons has disappeared, any ideas how to get it back? It's back to :-( for me.......
