Emailing Route planner

I have used the route planner under "planning your holiday" and so I can use it en route electronically with my ipad on the journey, I emailed myself which does not seem to work.

Anyone tried this and did you have any luck. I have tried this both on my ipad and my home PC, neither worked. I was expecting to see an email with perhaps a PDF file attached, but absolutly nothing, not even an email with an error or corrupted.
